WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS is a goofy show, and GO FLIP YOURSELF captured that aspect perfectly. Although I’m a bit upset that the fourth season of WWDITS doesn’t have as much of an overarching story as its predecessors, I’m here for the ride.
GO FLIP YOURSELF is an excellent parody of home improvement shows, and of course, SHADOWS is already a parody of the mid-2010s vampire craze, so this episode worked much better than expected. I’d gladly watch a take on CHOPPED, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, or AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR where Guillermo, Nadja, or little Colin Robinson are involved, respectively. But GO FLIP YOURSELF is Laszlo (Matt Berry) focused, and he shines in this episode.
The show is winding down, and I’m not sure if the season can pull itself together in the last couple of installments, but GO FLIP YOURSELF will go down as a more memorable outing for our Long Island vampires.
