WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS adverts the audience’s attention this week with a slew of Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) and Nandor (Kayvan Novak) reveals when the real focus should be on a different “super slumber” about to take place.
What makes season three the MVP of this criminally overlooked dark comedy is its touching emotional sequences that masterfully mix extreme violence and below-the-belt humor. In A FAREWELL, I went from 😂 -> 😢 -> 🤢 in the same sequence more than one time. And that is challenging content to make. Yet, somehow, the creators (“f*cking guides”) continue to impress weekly!
Even more impressive, this week has two hilarious guest stars with Donal Logue (who’s now a real vampire because he liked playing one so much in BLADE) and David Cross. When a show goes down the path of guest stars, it usually takes away from the regular cast. But this week, they only add to the madness.
As we say a FAREWELL to the best episode yet of WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, one thing is for sure; I will remember this show, even it wasn’t written on a piece of paper that I keep at all times. “What’s done is done.”
It’s available on FX.
