WALLACE AND GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL is back with another fabulously fun adventure. It shares a great lesson about the use of technology and never letting go of that personal touch. The film is a good mix of our society’s younger viewpoints vs. staying true to your core beliefs and what is most important in the end. It is a smashing, silly success for the entire family.
I fell in love with Wallace and Gromit years ago and have always been a major groupie. Their relationship is at the heart of every story, and this latest tale is no exception. The specific details the creators entwine within every frame give me goosebumps.
I was lucky to meet Nick Park at a screening last year. It was truly like being in the presence of a genius. This is the fifth film in this particular franchise. It marks the return of Feathers McGraw and is the first to receive a PG rating, along with a change in the size of their characters (1.85:1 to 2.35:1). It also marks the debut of the new Wallace voiceover. I can loudly proclaim… it was perfect.
What makes this feature so entertaining and exciting is the continuous twists within its content. The action moves at an incredible pace, with tons of Easter Eggs thrown throughout the journey. There are references to blockbuster movies, events, songs, and famous people. Nothing is off the table. It is a hoot to try to identify them all. I laughed out loud dozens of times in awe of all the creativity. And don’t get me started on McGraw’s eyes. Yikes. They are a crack-up.
WALLACE AND GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL is a delightful, hilarious, and thought-provoking film. It will punch every button on your card of must-see holiday treats for the family and yourself. I am still grinning from ear to ear, remembering the importance of cheese, a reboot, and a “good pat.”
WALLACE AND GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL is available in theaters starting on Christmas day.
