UNITED STATES OF AL was definitely a Christmas episode. Al (Adhir Kalyan) was excited about his first time decorating a tree and going caroling.
Al wanted to know the “why” behind every Christmas tradition, but no one had the answers. It was nice to see Riley (Parker Young) happy, perhaps due to another woman. But, in the end, it was a typical Christmas party with all the in-family fighting, angst, and apologies.
The biggest question of the episode was what does Vanessa, Kelli Goss, (Riley’s ex) want. It makes for a good cliffhanger and leaves the viewers hopeful for the entire family. This is what the holidays are all about and what we all want for those we love.
