UNITED STATES OF AL is all about wisdom. The kind of wisdom you earn through years of being a parent and teeth that are no longer necessary.
This episode shows the viewers again how totally, different elders in an American household are compared to those in Afghanistan. Values are held up to opposite scrutiny and reverence. It also comes with a warning to anyone coming out of anesthetic. Be aware of your words. Perhaps lips should be clamped shut, since what could be said would never cross our mouths under normal conditions.
In the end, UNITED STATES OF AL is always about family and love. Al just brings out that quality every time in all of us.
