TROLLS BAND TOGETHER 😊

It’s strange to review a third TROLLS movie. Somehow, we live in a world where cheap-looking 90s toys became an enjoyable, family-friendly trilogy. While BAND TOGETHER attempts to make the “Perfect Family Harmony,” it comes up short due to a serviceable plot and weak character development. And yes, I just said the plot and character arcs were weak in a TROLLS film. 😆

It’s fun watching the TROLLS franchise evolve from being the “New Kids on the Block” to becoming enjoyable “All-4-One“… I mean, many types of audiences. Your enjoyment of BAND TOGETHER might depend on whether you grew up in the ’90s and had frost tips or a perm. Or you could be along for the ride, watching Branch (Justin Timberlake) and his bros go from “Boys II Men.” Yet, as the story moves in “One Direction,” it’s quick to see that these “Backstreet (trolls) Boys” are “N’Sync” with catchy songs and dance numbers that would make the “Jackson 5” jealous. Also, the villains’ (Andrew Rannells and Amy Schumer) chemistry is hotter than “98 Degrees” and should keep you laughing throughout the movie.

Boy band puns aside, the new hit song from TROLLS BAND TOGETHER might be “Better Place,” but the film is more of a “Good Place” to spend time with your family.

It’s available in theatres now.
