One of my favorite things about WHITE LOTUS is Mike White’s ability to build up a world that feels like a Rube Goldberg machine – incredibly detailed and intricate taking a winding road to it’s morbid end. WHITE LOTUS’ third season has its signature grab bag of characters – some of which we love to hate and others we hate to love.
Although not much in particular happens in SPECIAL TREATMENTS, it still manages to feel important. THE WHITE LOTUS offers us an intimate peek into the lives of its characters; it seems to know what viewers are thinking and accelerates their expectations to new levels. I’m particularly excited for Jacyln, Kate, and Laurie’s journey – their conversations have been the best kind of cringeworthy, and at this point I have a hard time imagining that the signature death of the series will involve them at all.
WHITE LOTUS is now streaming on Max.
