THE SIX TRIPLE EIGHT 🤩

THE SIX TRIPLE EIGHT was based upon an article, FIGHTING A TWO FRONT WAR, written by Kevin Hymel. During WWII, the American government gave up its fight to deliver any mail to or from our beleaguered soldiers. Seventeen million pieces of mail and packages were stored in numerous airplane hangars from floor to ceiling. THE SIX TRIPLE EIGHT were given the impossible task of sorting the mail and delivering it within six months. This group of 855 women from the Black Army Corps were not expected to succeed. This story is part of America’s history. It is powerful and needs to be seen.

Tyler Perry wrote, directed, and helped produce THE SIX TRIPLE EIGHT. It boasts an impressive cast that features Kerry Washington, Ebony Obsidian, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston, Susan Sarandon, and Oprah Winfrey. The writers lead audiences on a journey of discrimination and cruel conditions. The fate of our service men’s morale was in the hands of these determined women. It was well-told, with moments of humiliation for what they had to endure.

THE SIX TRIPLE EIGHT was inspiring and educational. I had no idea. Most Americans didn’t have a clue. Kudos to all who created such a heartwarming film. Perry also included clips and interviews from the original Black Army Corps. These women are stirring and will leave audiences if awe for their strength and courage. They deserve seventeen million rounds of applause.

THE SIX TRIPLE EIGHT is streaming on NETFLIX. Ignore  Rotten Tomato’s opinion. Go with the public’s responses.
