THE REHEARSAL has no boundaries. Nathan Fielder will set up viewers in the most absurd, creative scenarios humanly possible (Or whatever the studio executives will allow). The PILOT’S CODE was outrageous and at times, even unbelievable, even for Fielder. There are images I can’t get out of my head. Diapers, stilts, and puppetry do not belong in the same sentence.
Fielder is on a noble quest this season. His heart and brain are aligned, but fair warning, dear reader, watch out for those side stories. I learned too much about an American hero in vivid, visual sequences. Can anyone say, “Got milk?”
As a former theatre teacher, I totally understand the lesson of staying in the moment. With Fielder, this could create gales of disbelief and hilarity while watching this quirky comedy. Do not try any of these rehearsals at home.
