I have been gushing over the phenomenal medical emergency series THE PITT every week. HOUR 13 took me to the depths of despair. How can professional doctors, nurses, and hospital staff do this job every day? How can they move from patient to patient, ripping off their gloves, and remain sane while covered in so much blood and guts? How do they stop the endlessly running reel of those they saved and the ones who died? Audiences are watching actors as they role-play through such realistic and devastating minutes of screen time. It is grippingly raw. It will claw at your soul. It is acting at its finest, with brilliant performances by the entire ensemble.
This particular hour belonged to Noah Wylie, who portrays Dr. Robbie. His facial expressions, his silent pauses, on the brink, deep within the well of utter anguish and disconsolateness, were sheer perfection. I watched in awe. Kudos to the writers who bravely left audiences where they did.
I say again and again… THE PITT is not easy to view, but it does reinforce the fantastic caliber of skill and care the cast showcases. It lights up an area that most are afraid to face. I thank the medical gods for first responders who live this life every day.
THE PITT is must-see tv and streaming on MAX.
