PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION is a heart-felt rom-com that offers a different perspective on two theories that opposites attract and always be friends first with the person you might end up with. It is predictable yet offers a fun romp traveling throughout the world’s vacation hot spots. It is based on the novel by Emily Henry.
Poppy (Emily Bader!) and Alex (Tom Blyth) are adorable together. They just don’t know how deep their chemistry will take them. They are hilarious as long as “vacation Alex” is in the room. Even though their journey is long and hard, the life lessons learned make it all worthwhile. Their performances sizzle, when necessary, especially during their fast-paced bantering and scenic trips. It all explodes with high energy and silly, sweet moments through those discovery filled twenties. It made me smile as I looked back and remembered what I thought was important. The film is relatable because most of us muddle through our own similar coming-of-age growth spurts.
PEOPlE WE MEET ON VACATION is successful simply because Polly and Alex work so well together. Their yin/yang relationship made a believer out of me. It is streaming on Netflix.
