THE OLD GUARD 2 was such a huge disappointment. The writers got so bogged down with past narratives and ancient lore. The action never escalated beyond a simmering boil to truly entice fans of this much-anticipated sequel. It felt like filler, ensuring every loose end was explained to set up the third installment. Please reconsider and let sleeping dogs lie, or in this case, sleeping immortals who are heavily napping.Â
I have always enjoyed Charlize Theron’s acting abilities, but this time, the task of saving this film was insurmountable. Her role as Andy was not that of the larger-than-life, sarcastic, bold, and brave god from the original Old Guard. It all felt stilted, tame, and at times predictable. It was such a letdown. Â
THE OLD GUARD 2 needs some serious revisions in their direction. Perhaps Victoria Mahoney, the director, is not the one to lead the charge in part three. Don’t waste your time on this one.Â
THE OLD GUARD 2 is streaming on Netflix.Â
