THE LIGHT WE CARRY: MICHELLE OBAMA AND OPRAH WINFREY was the final interview on Michelle Obama’s second book tour. It was insightful, funny, informative, and very laid-back, while two of them chatted away in front of several thousand in the audience.
Oprah asked poignant, compelling questions, and Michelle answered with total honesty and frankness. I am currently reading THE LIGHT WE CARRY, so I found the “informal” promotional book interview fascinating. It was as if we were privy to the Cliff Notes to help understand Michelle’s story even more succinctly and thoroughly.
I loved the ease and flow. The tidbits revealed were relevant. It was helpful to learn about “toolboxes, slow ghosting, kitchen table friends, and how Barack is her home.” Michelle was lucky indeed to grow up with such amazing parents. Being just “comfortably afraid” is the key to not losing your center.
THE LIGHT WE CARRY: MICHELLE OBAMA AND OPRAH WINFREY was a delightful 90-minute positive pause during my day. It reinforced that it “takes a lifetime to find your voice.” I am so glad these two extraordinary ladies found theirs. “Light begets light…light begets hope.” Now I am sighing and feeling as if I can “lead with light.” It is available to stream on NETFLIX.
