THE LAST OF US gave viewers an exciting, tense, and heartwarming episode all wrapped within an approximate 36-hour time frame. My chest was pounding as Ellie and Dina crept their way into Seattle. DAY ONE gifted fans with so many revealing and rewarding moments that set up their future for days to come.Â
I have never played the video game on which this series is based. I have heard many tales from my son, Aaron, and others about how TLOU will rip your soul to shreds as you play, trying to decide which side to defend. I wish there were more “benefits of the apocalypse.”Â
This game, this series, lies deep within the gray areas of life and forces moral choices to be continually made. It is a tough road on any level, but the writers have also shed light on what makes our species human. Those quiet, fleeting seconds that reinforce our love and hope. These can be found in an old music shop hidden deep within a forgotten acoustic guitar. This makes us strong enough to continue this journey filled with thoughts of revenge. The lucky ones are not alone. They will forge ahead “together”  through the “optimistic” flags and the bloody gore until the bitter end.Â
THE LAST OF US is television at its finest. Don’t miss out on what everyone is talking about and what could be our reality just around the corner if we don’t start making good choices.
It is streaming on MAX.Â
