THE LAST LETTER FROM YOUR LOVER is a movie made for romance enthusiasts. It contains all the highs and lows surrounding two love stories, one that is set in 1965 and the other in today’s world.
The film has a strong cast featuring Shailene Woodley, Joe Alwyn, and Felicity Jones. Jojo Moyes wrote the original book. The plotline is simple. A journalist finds an old love letter in a forgotten file written decades ago. She can’t stop thinking about the two lovers and begins a journey to track them down. She wants to know how their lives turned out. There is even a homage to the classic film AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER.
I enjoyed this movie, but then I am a romantic at heart. I was swept away and believed every word of their many love letters. This is a story for those who believe in serendipitous moments. Cynics need not watch.
