THE GILDED AGE was a name dropper this week. So much history, a famous department store, and a game-changing invention was shared. It was like watching the past unfold before the viewers eyes. Exciting.

On top of all that going on, there was more scandalous moments, jealousy, changes in the servant’s quarters, possible courtroom drama, petty bickering, and of course, love. The pacing of the show is moving quicker, and now that we are familiar with the characters, it is easier to keep up. The costumes are simply sublime, and bustles might be getting smaller. One can hope.

THE GILDED AGE is a time period when anything is possible. I loved the look of sheer awe on everyone’s faces when discoveries are made public. It is a turning point in history for sure. “There is no choice…we must go where history takes us.” Wha ta wondrous time to be alive.

THE GILDED AGE is available to stream on HBO Max.
