THE BEAST IN ME MINI-SERIES REVIEW 😊

THE BEAST IN ME is a gripping thriller that features two phenomenal actors, Claire Danes as Aggie and Matthew Rhys as Nile. It centered on themes dealing with “blood lust,” revenge, and grief. The action was often violent and not for the faint of heart. I binged the series purposely to see what the pay-off might be. I was not disappointed. Karma can be a motherf***er.

Rhys was mesmerizing. His dead-like reactions kept me on the edge of my seat. He played a totally creepy character. He is the reason to watch. He nailed every moment with dramatic flair. Danes was no slouch either. Her interpretation of grief, loss, and utter fear for her life was spot-on. She does breathless very well, and it added to the intensity of every second.

THE BEAST IN ME was in the capable hands of Gabe Rotter (THE X-FILES) as creator and producer. Suspense, expectations, and doubt continually pushed the story arcs forward. It all made me not want to live in the suburbs or jog in the forest. Nothing ever good comes from those dark, shady corners.

THE BEAST IN ME is not a warm, fuzzy holiday series. It turned the focus on the concept of being born with evil, or does it lie just beneath the surface of humanity?

It is streaming on Netflix.
