THE BATMAN (2022) 🤩

Riddle me this – what do you get when you mix James Bond with THE DEPARTED?

THE BATMAN

Matt Reeves’ take on the Caped Crusader is unlike any superhero movie we’ve seen since, appropriately, THE DARK KNIGHT trilogy. Although there are some modern references, the movie feels like a mid-2000s superhero film – it’s dark, dreary, and spooky in the best possible ways.

Robert Pattinson is my favorite Bruce Wayne so far, providing a realistic and grounded portrayal of the character. Paul Dano, Zoë Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, and Colin Farrell were stellar in their roles, as well. Batman’s villains work best as foils, and THE BATMAN leans into this idea and builds the story around the concept.

At almost three hours, the movie has some brief dragging moments but makes up for it with a complex, intricately woven plot that kept me on the edge of my seat.

If you want to see The World’s Greatest Detective earn his title, go see THE BATMAN, playing in theaters starting on March 4.
