This week’s highlight in THE AFTERPARTY was seeing VEEP alumni Reid Scott, guest star. DANNER improved over last week’s disastrous ZOE. However, this show is quickly becoming a one-hit-wonder.
The backstory leaves the high school and dives into Danner’s (Tiffany Haddish) path to becoming a detective. It has a lot of 22 JUMP STREET vibes without as many lol moments.
At the start of her backstory, her partner says – “don’t tell your story now.” If only the creators listened to that request and kept the story more focused. With only one episode left, I’m giving Chris Miller the benefit of the doubt, aka “one (more) shot, twice.”
