I hate-watched the entire first season of THE ACOLYTE only because it was part of the STAR WARS universe. In hindsight, itās another lesson learned: if something is bad, itās bad. It doesnāt matter what universe it takes place in, nor how much I love the source material; I donāt need to be a completionist with lousy content.
There are only three reasons to watch any part of THE ACOYLTEās first season.
- The action ā Despite having some of the worst storytelling in any STAR WARS TV series, the lightsaber battles are fantastic. Although, you wonāt care much about who wins them.
- Manny Jacinto ā Jacinto is the only actor who will walk away from this pile of trash show with kudos. He proves that heās more than capable of carrying a series post THE GOOD PLACE.
- You donāt value your time. I said there are three reasons because I love the rule three, but sadly, there are only two.
THE ACOLYTE is the first STAR WARS series (outside of OBI-WAN) that doesnāt justify an existence. It should not be renewed for a second season, and instead, audiences can revisit ANDOR or MANDO to wash away the stench from spending time with these uninspired Jedis. Or a āmemory wipeā might do the trick. š
The entire first season is available to skip on Disney+.
