STICK wrapped up its first season with a sweet, sappy, and semi-predictable conclusion. The writers carved a clear path for another season of golf, grief, teenage angst, relationships, friendships, and the inevitable competitive tournament. Personally, I can’t wait. This was a fun show to watch from start to finish.
The best part of the finale was watching how far Pryce(Owen Wilson) and Santi (Peter Dager) had grown. Their timing together was filled with delightful snippets of trust and admiration. It was as if they were the only ones on that green waiting to take that swing. Yet, they weren’t. “OH, CECILLA, YOU’RE BREAKING MY HEART…” What a memorable, meaningful moment.
STICK turned out to be one of my favorites, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though I am not a fan of golfing. I now wish I had not been so closed-minded about hitting a ball with a STICK. I guess I just needed some like Owen Wilson by my side.
