STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS is so darn creative this season. WHAT IS STARFLEET? was no exception. It was another thought-provoking look at how different species attempt to survive. What are the morals and ethics that guide galaxies? Tough questions as viewers were treated to a documentary filmed within the episode. The camera was up close and very personal.Â
Duty-bound was part of being a member of Starfleet. The crew made that clear, but it was how the writers delved deeply within the Federation’s constructs to cleverly muddy the issues. This made for strong, powerful, heart-warming acting arcs. No amount of “redacted material” or “classified” answers could change the intended momentum. Bravo.Â
