Two weeks in a row, SOUTH PARK has been on-point. Amazingly, after 25 freaking years, the creators are still coming up with ways to stay relevant. Tonight’s episode is all about St. Patrick’s day being the one day left that “white people can safely celebrate.”
Yes, Trey Parker and Matt Stone go there. It’s not so much a ripped-from-the-headlines story as it’s well-timed with cancel culture. Only the two of them could get away with showing that pinching someone for not wearing green could make you a predator.
When SOUTH PARK works, it’s usually a combination of having an A and a B story that mixes better than Tegridy Weed. And in E6, both those “strains” make the perfect “holiday special.”
If you’re not doing anything this St. Patrick’s Day, stop by Farty O’Cool’s pub in SOUTH PARK for some comedy gold.
The latest episode is available on Comedy Central, HBO Max, and Paramount+.
