"He's fighting for democracy."

It’s only been a week since the tragedies in Ukraine started, and SOUTH PARK already has an episode attacking the Russians. I have to hand it to Trey Parker and Matt Stone for trying to innovate and take headlines from the news so quickly. However, this week’s episode faltered again as it missed all the boys from SOUTH PARK and instead focused on two weaker characters – Butters / Mr. Mackey.

Don’t get me wrong, there were some funny WAR GAMES and RED DAWN spoofs, but overall the episode was more of a 🥱 than a full-on 🤮 . It’s disappointing since SOUTH PARK did an excellent job covering unconscious bias a few weeks ago.

It may be a matter of national security to beat the Russians, but it’s also a matter of a comedy show to make audiences laugh. So 🤞 the creators go back to the boys next week for a much-needed injection of humor. If not, we may just have to run an emergency drill that doesn’t involve Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

The latest episode is available on Comedy Central, HBO Max, and Paramount+.
