SHE-HULK is admittedly different from the rest of the MCU TV shows we’ve seen so far, but I don’t mind. I love the short episodes, light plots, silly jokes…and Jen Walters! We on the SpoilerFreeReviews team have had some spirited conversations about this show – and I was a bit surprised that some of my fellow reviewers had different views from mine.
In JUST JEN, we get a wedding episode (coincidentally, the same week as HOUSE OF THE DRAGONS’). I was so excited to see Patti Harrison in this episode – she takes some of the I THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE sketches to another level, and her ZIWE episode was terrific. However, she was underutilized in this episode and didn’t quite have her Madisynn moment. On the flip side, Jameela Jamil is (almost literally) crushing it. The more Titania, the better!
The B-storyline in this episode was silly, goofy, fun, almost reminiscent of THE BOYS or INVINCIBLE. We’re getting hints of Marvel moving in this direction; I wouldn’t be surprised to see it. Like it or not, SHE-HULK does feel like a groundbreaking show, and I’m excited to see what comes next.
