SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW S1E2 SUPERHUMAN LAW 🤩

After a very effective premier established exposition and lore, the new Marvel series’ second episode has gotten its story underway in a big way.

Rather than fighting in the streets, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) uses her smarts, education, and career drive to maintain justice. Maslany continues to showcase her comedic chops as our new favorite green, latent, lawyer/superhero, delivering more than one literal laugh-out-loud moment. (The Emmy-winners career has been chiefly drama-laden until now.) She’s a total delight to watch.

I’m also excited to get to know more about her personal life. Her family is instantly endearing (if not a little cliché in the world of sitcoms—perhaps on purpose) and her coworkers seem like they’ll be a lot of fun to watch. Separately, in a recent real-life Tinder publicity stunt, users were recently able to swipe left or right on She-Hulk herself. This kind of tongue-in-cheek approach allows the comedy to rise to the surface and make Jennifer among the most relatable Marvel superheroes yet. The fourth-wall takes to the camera are reminiscent of FLEABAG but still feels fresh. I think one of the show’s best strengths will be showcasing the everyday, more mundane goings-on in a potential superhero’s life. Honestly, I wished the episode were longer than its half-hour sitcom format.

The episode is also full of Easter eggs (no surprise), linking it to past iterations of The Hulk, and it MIGHT be laying the groundwork for a big, Hulking adventure in the future. (Let the speculation begin!)

And as always—stick around for a fun post-credits scene.
