SEVERANCE took viewers to the edge in COLD HARBOR. I was reminded of the adage, “Make good choices,” but another thought crossed my mind. Good choices for whom? Who wins in this innie/outie world, and is there any way to come back from those final seconds? Oh, I do love a great “bookend” story.Â
Deep within those white Lumon walls, we’re treated to extraordinary, painful moments. The writers know by now which buttons to push to set our “fight or flee” instincts in motion. Some images will be left out in the cold until season three.Â
SEVERANCE is a series that allows the actors’ extra beats to breathe intense, compelling facial expressions into every frame. You want to turn away or blink, but you just can’t. The total ensemble commitment makes it almost hypnotic.Â
SEVERANCE was less consistent this past season. Keeping us within is the key. I am so glad this is not a reality show—or is it? We all deserve answers.
