SCHMIGADOON! is digging deeper with their plot lines and song parodies. It is by far one of the best musical theatre series.

The opening dance number, YOU MUST ALWAYS TRY YOUR BEST WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART, was brilliant. Ariana DeBose is spectacular as the singing school marm tapping with her students on top of their desks. It could have easily been a scene from MARY POPPINS or THE KING AND I.

Next, cue the double entendre between the Mayor and the Reverend at the outdoor dessert table. Then whisk us away to a scene in the mountains that looks very “Alp” like from THE SOUND Of MUSIC. Finally, Cecily Strong as Melissa shares a hilarious tune, VAGINA, similar to the melody of DOE A DEER, but explains sex and the baby birthing process.

There are so many priceless, subtle gems throughout this episode. I have to mention the Mayor’s, Alan Cumming, coming out moment and of course “why shepoopie?” I can’t explain…it must be seen and heard. But I promise, there will be tons of laughter, side by side dancing, a kazoo, and magical snow.

SCHMIGADOON! is over-the-top entertainment. It puts a smile on your face and sets your toes a-tapping. The ensemble is phenomenal. The writing is spot-on. What are you waiting for?

It’s must-see TV and available to stream on Apple TV+.
