ROOFMAN 😊

ROOFMAN is based on a true story that is hard to believe. It showcased almost every mistake and bad choice that Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum) ever made throughout his life. It is a fascinating story reiterating that crime does not pay because it will catch up with you eventually.

Tatum and Kirsten Dunst, as Leigh, were adorable together for sure, but the plot contained more human nature theories than just love. ROOFMAN channeled the need for community. We, as a species, will seek out others even though it might not be in our best interest. Dunst played her role as authentically and honestly as possible. This is why she and Tatum’s character created such a conundrum. Their moments together were well-done and heartbreaking. It was, in the end, predictable.

ROOFMAN is a solid film. It will entertain and make viewers laugh. The ensemble is believable, especially Peter Dinklage as Mitch. It was fun to watch until the roof came crashing down. Perhaps this was the “butterfly effect.” Some people will never learn important lessons.

ROOFMAN is streaming on Paramount+.
