Season two’s tone for RESERVATION DOGS has been more serious, yet the creators still find a way to continue to pack funny one-liners. From “testicle pain” to a “galaxy far, far away,” the show’s superhero power makes you laugh one minute, only to cry the next.
MABEL is easily the best episode so far this season. The theme is about how death can give closure while also allowing the young to learn who their elders were back when they were in their youth.
What keeps pulling me into RESERVATION DOGS is how it continues to capture life on the reservation, which I don’t know much about, and make it instantly relatable. Every culture has rituals for death, and learning how it happens on the reservation while personally remembering how Judaism handles death makes it even more powerful.
You are missing out if you aren’t watching RESERVATION DOGS’ second season. Catfish is still life, and it has gotten much more meaningful.
It’s available on Hulu FX.
