RESCUED BY RUBY is based on a true story surrounding two “lost” souls who find each other in a unique moment. This is a wonderful dog-lovers tale.

Dan (Grant Gustin) is a State Trooper from Rhode Island who dreams of being a K-9 Search and Rescue Team member. I will not share anymore, but suffice it to say, have a box of Kleenex nearby. RESCUED BY RUBY is one of those rare movies that truly is for the entire family. It will make you laugh out loud and shed buckets of tears.

Ruby is a gorgeous, expressive animal. I wanted to reach into my screen and hug her throughout the film. There are no real surprises in the plot, but the journey of Dan, Ruby, and the entire ensemble make it all worthwhile. I found myself silently cheering during all the twists and turns. It is, indeed, written for dog enthusiasts.

RESCUED BY RUBY is not a summer blockbuster. It is, however, a gentle, warm, heartfelt, loving movie about all the infinite possibilities of our universe if we only can be open to what is placed in front of us. Enjoy and believe in the “underdog.”

It is available to stream on NETFLIX.
