RAIN DOGS S1E1 & 2 🤩

RAIN DOGS looks harshly at a group of desperate characters who are just trying to survive with what little they have. The writers have created a series that is sad, a smidge humorous, and very human.

Daisy May Cooper (Costello Jones) is a “fam” with her daughter. She will do anything to keep them together. Daisy is smart, streetwise, and dreams of writing her story. She truly cannot catch a break, and that is what makes this drama so “in-your-face” raw and believable. It highlights how broken the system is, yet somehow, they must find a place to sleep, do homework, and live. What I loved was the honesty of their situation. They do not hold back. Whatever can be manipulated will be tried.

The ensemble also features Selby (Jack Farthing) and Gloria (Ronke Adekoluejo), who are connected to Daisy’s journey. The three are woven together in bittersweet, troubled moments. Shocking and, can I say it again…real.

RAIN DOGS is not for the faint of heart. It demands your attention. They are all dysfunctional and living on the outskirts of society. It is compelling and, at times, totally overwhelming. I am not sure what I would do in the same situation, but I am hooked.

RAIN DOGS is just starting on a long, hard road of disappointment and inspiring blips. Isn’t this how so many live their lives every day? I am rooting for them, even though we just met.

It is available to stream on HBO MAX.
