The âFun and Gamesâ second act section of ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING was literally âfun-ish gamesâ being played. After the last few episodes questioning why I keep returning to the Arconia, it was refreshing to see the three leads escape their apartments for a countryside adventure. Their âoperationâ is, of course, filled with mishaps while the devilish Christoph Waltz and smug RenĂ©e Zellweger billionaires join the fun.
While I loved seeing those enormous stars return, I canât help but restate that ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDINGâs seasons should be limited to seven to eight episodes, max. The current ten-episode arcs stretch out the seasons longer than a full game of Monopoly.
Some of My Favorite Quotes This Week:
- âFirst compliment that ever made my bowels evacuate.â
- âAre you real or will we find out that you died 50 years ago?â
- âLions, and Tigers, and Bears, oh, shit!â

I donât need to have my âEyes Wide Shutâ to realize that ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING is running on fumes. Even when it hits all the right beats, it still feels like mid-TV. In other words, Iâm âcamel-tonedâ out on this once original, funny, and joyful series.
Itâs available on Hulu.
