ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING S4E1 ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST 🤩 

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING truly understands how to set the audience up for another great season. The opening sequence was poignant and hilarious. It’s all about how we want to be remembered, and OMITB obviously owns the patent on creativity. 

The three leads, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selina Gomez, are brilliant and irresistible. They feel like people, not characters, everyone wants as a friend. The first episode wasted no time placing audiences back in sync as we were whisked across the country and back. It was a trip hooking up with old friends and being dazzled by new ones. Great surprises while facing life-changing moments and decisions. We were treated to meeting “a fruit” and hanging with an “unfunny turtle.” Whistle sounds were super intriguing; dogs who knew what they were doing and going with a “soft, green light ” seemed practical and entertaining. Only the podcasters could pull this sort of crazy experience together and make it all work as brilliantly. 

OMITB is all about timing and pacing.  There is no stopping once the opening credits roll. The punting and parrying back and forth is a tribute to excellent writing and an ensemble who knows how to deliver and keep audiences in the palm of their hand. I couldn’t stop gleefully laughing. Their comedic timing is fresh and fun. Their mantra is being applied every step of the way… ”Go in hard, finish first.”

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING does not disappoint. The final few moments were silent gifts reminding everyone of “ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST.” All I can add is “Pack your bags, bitches.” It’s going to be spectacular.
