OMITB tries to find its “dazzle” through song yet sadly loses its way in the latest episode, GRAB YOUR HANKIES.
The show is at its best when Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selina Gomez are on the screen together. Yet, in E3, the creators mistakingly use a plot to keep them apart. This enables the development of other characters’ relationships. And yes, new guest star Jesse Williams has a chance to “start with a spark,” but we all know this show belongs to Short, Martin, and Gomez. Well, and now possibly Meryl Streep. With the big three chemistry missing this week, Meryl Streep is the “showstopper.” With one sequence, she becomes “the heart of the show.”
Despite a weaker episode, the ending closes stronger than a “good cheese plate.” It’s OMITB at its best. I wish the rest of the episode was as good as those last few minutes.
The mystery continues on Hulu weekly.
