NORTH OF NORTH follows a young Inuk woman who faces a mid-life crisis at 26. She blows up her life within a small, arctic community filled with family and friends. This series surprised both my husband and me. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining, funny stories.
Anna Lambe (TRUE DETECTIVE) as Siaja was a woman not to be trifled with as she seeks to find answers to her restlessness. Her expressive face could light up any scene. Her comedic timing was spot-on, and her desire to live life to the fullest gives viewers a different perspective.Â
The writers had a deep understanding of this village, and it came through in every quirky character. The plot felt authentic. I had empathy for the ensemble and all their small-town struggles to survive.Â
The outerwear was fascinating and gorgeous. So many stunning coats and fur-lined hoodies. It felt like we were watching Carrie model her clothes from SEX IN THE CITY but with a frosty twist. It was great creativity to complete everyone’s look.Â
NORTH OF NORTH deserves viewers’ attention. I enjoyed myself immensely, and I didn’t have to leave the comfort and warmth of my favorite chair.
It is streaming on NETFLIX.Â
