Why, oh, why did I waste ninety minutes of my life watching MOTHER OF THE BRIDE? The writing was so predictable and insipid. The acting was phoned in, and the only saving grace was the location. Alas, location does not make a movie no matter how many times you say it. Location…location…location.Â
It’s a shame because I have always enjoyed Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt, and Rachel Harris, but this film was not romantic, fun, or exciting to watch. Rom-coms need to have a smidge of lust too. This movie failed on all levels.Â
MOTHER OF THE BRIDE needs to be put back into the vault where films are stored that “shoulda, woulda, coulda” been better. It is streaming on Netflix.Â
