The new DOCTOR STRANGE may have the word āmultiverseā in the title, yet MOON KNIGHT could easily do the same. As space, time, and a giant hippo close out season one of the series, I am happy to report the creators stick the landing⦠kind of.Ā
After WANDAVISION, HAWKEYE, CAPTAIN FALCON, and LOKI, itās safe to say that Marvel has a formula. Drop a ton of exposition in a fun way in the penultimate episode and follow it up with superhero action. This isnāt a bad thing, as it rightfully allows each of these titles to connect to the bigger MCU and continue into a season two (if there is one). With MOON KNIGHT, the creators follow this Marvel formula to moderate success.
Despite the formulaic conclusion, this doesnāt take away from MOON KNIGHT being the most audacious Marvel series yet. Every episode is easily a 𤩠, while this one is simple a š. Even during the predictable GODZILLA / OG GHOSTBUSTER-like finale, the first season didnāt let me down.
One thing that MOON KNIGHT completed was the payoff ofĀ narrative debt. This show did not āLOSTā the ending. Instead, audiences will get their answers before saying ālaters gatorsā to one of the most unique superhero stories ever told in the MCU.
Itās available on Disney+.Ā
