I didn’t know what I wanted out of this week’s MOON KNIGHT episode, but I got it.
In many ways, THE FRIENDLY TYPE is still setting things up, but the amount of world-building in this episode is impressive. We also dive deeper into the characters’ relationships with themselves and the others in this world, including Marc and Steven.
So far, we haven’t really gotten anything that feels super “Marvel,” – and I’m enjoying it. Something about this show feels like ETERNALS (in a good way). Although there hasn’t been a ton of clarity on Arthur Harrow’s (Ethan Hawke) exact goals, there is a puzzle-treasure hunt-“MacGuffin” undertone that I’m thoroughly enjoying.
Finally – the acting, directing, and setting of this show are excellent. The way Oscar Isaac can waltz between Marc, Steven, and Moon Knight is fascinating. We also got many more excellent characters in this episode, many of which already seem nuanced and complex. Mohamed Diab’s directing was ideal for this episode, given its physical location.
All that to say, I’m over-the-moon excited for next week’s episode.
MOON KNIGHT is available to stream on Disney+.
