LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE S2E1 AMARANTH TREATS 🤩

The second season of LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE is now available. Although only one episode premiered, it felt like a breath of fresh, familiar air revisiting the journeys of star-crossed lovers, Tita and Pedro. Thank you Salma Hayek for gifting audiences with this beautifully told story.

This epic tale is in Spanish and even though it requires me to switch to English translation, nothing feels lost within the emotional arcs of the characters involved. It is a huge narrative that circles the lives of several families and Mexican history during the beginnings of the revolution. It invokes all of our senses as we spend time creating rich foods made from a place of love. It is almost visceral and viewers will believe they are tasting the meals and treats.

The pacing is slow intentionally to allow audiences a glimpse into another lifestyle. It simmers while inviting big sighs and breaths filled with passion and longing. Standing with Tita staring at the sunset surrounds us with a sense of well-being. It is just a wow feeling that cannot be dissected, but only truly experienced. I cannot get enough. It is my “detonator.”

LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE refuses to be rushed and will deliver an episode each week for our delight. Don’t miss this incredibly crafted series streaming on Netflix.
