LESS THAN KOSHER ended Spokaneās in-person Film Festival. ItĀ was the perfect choice to showcase a rom/com filled with Jewish humor and great Hebrew electric pop music.Ā
Vivās (Shaina Silver-Baird) promising music career as a singer nose-dived by the time she was thirty, and now she is back living in her motherās basement. She is by chance, offered a job that has the potential to change her ābadassā Jewish opinions of herself.Ā Ā The wild roller coaster ride begins through drugs, an affair, family drama, and ultimately, self-discoveries. The key ingredient in this mix is family. This a film for multi-generations to enjoy together. It is honest and authentic in family dynamics.Ā
LESS THAN KOSHER is a beautiful film. The musical sequences are stunning and touched my heart. Shaina has amazing pipes and can draw audiences deep into her musical interludes. It was fast-paced, witty, and wonderfully entertaining. It was a brilliant way to end the film festival.Ā
