LADY IN THE LAKE gave viewers moments of discovery. Maddie (Natalie Portman) is trying so deeply to connect the dots to this murder mystery. I am not sure that wearing that special dress will give her the answers she desperately needs.Â
The funeral scene was powerful. It kicked this episode into high gear with more action, innuendo, and violence. The Helpline is obviously not the answer. Natalie portrays Maddie with such tenacious intent. Her continuous digging leads her to a cliffhanger of momentous, bloody proportions. I want to understand her character’s motivation, especially in those final seconds. She is truly a brilliant actress.Â
LADY IN THE LAKE is not a series for everyone, and it does not bring much joy to this small Baltimore community. However, it does keep this reviewer wondering what the heck I just saw long after the credits roll.
