I SWEAR is an exceptional film based on a true story surrounding the sweet and percussive saga of John Davidson. He was an ordinary man who struggled with the invasiveness and cruelty of Tourette’s Syndrome discovered when he was a young teen. It is an honest depiction of one man’s journey and how he was able to make a difference in not only his life, but within the thousands who struggle everyday with this infliction. Â
I SWEAR’s bullseye is attributed to the remarkable talent of Robert Aramayo. He is a consummate actor who does not hold back in order to deliver a stellar, superb performance filled with every nuance of authenticity. The range and depth of Aramayo is exceptional as he captures the vocal and physical characteristics of a person suffering with each breath to appear normal. I felt privileged to witness Davidson’s story.Â
Kirk Jones (MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING) is the writer and director of this must see film. Each frame, each second represents the truth about a disease that is rarely brought into the light and given the empathy it deserves. Bravo. I am a better person for having watched I SWEAR because now I know. Knowledge and education is indeed power.Â
I SWEAR is worthy of your time. Don’t miss this film even though the language is very rough at times. This film reinforces the domino effect of kindness, perseverance, and love that eventually surrounded Davidson. There is hope for humanity.
I SWEAR is streaming on Netflix. Don’t miss it.Â
