HOT FROSTY is a unique, healing story about love, kindness, innocence, grief, and believing in the impossible. It is a magical tale about how anything can happen once you open your heart and “venture into the cold.” Yes, it is sappy sweet, but isn’t that what the holidays are all about… especially in a small town aptly named Hope Springs?
Kathy (Lacey Chabert) and Jack (Dustin Milligan) are hot together. Their chemistry is subtle, yet very obvious, just by gazing deep into their eyes. The incredulity of the plot is explored and accepted by almost everyone. I am a sucker for these kinds of movies. They are the best way to escape life’s everyday humdrum and get into the holiday spirit. In this case, it was all about accepting love, no matter how mysteriously the universe offers it to you. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone had more tolerance for those who are different? I guess all we would need is a red scarf and a strong wind for that to happen. I am silently sighing with hope.
HOT FROSTY was better than I thought it would be. The serious, touching moments gave it heart. I will think about it whenever I hear the line, “Do you want to build a snowman?” all winter long.
HOT FROSTY is streaming on Netflix.
