HOME ECONOMICS is shaping up to be my favorite new show of the season. It brings authenticity and humor to help me remember being a part of ordinary family life.
This week it was all about which brother or sister is the fun one, the sensible one and the sensitive one. There were some moments of silliness and high anxiety as they jockeyed for these positions. It all seemed normal and funny to me.
What I like about HOME ECONOMICS is how they aren’t hesitant to delve into the serious sides of these characters. The writers have allowed them time to take that extra beat and find the truth in each scene. And of course, it helps to have a stellar cast.
I look forward to many seasons of HOME ECONOMICS. It fills the void left by MODERN FAMILY in a new and unique way, and I love learning that all families want and basically need the same thing… “being there for each other.”
