HIGH DESERT continues to be a  wacky, character-driven series. The reason to watch is due to the creatively talented Patricia Arquette. She portrays Peggy and is what makes it all so mesmerizing with her extreme gestures, facial expressions, and voice interpretations.

The writers take viewers on a bumpy journey with two steps forward in the plot lines and then four steps back. It feels bumpy, to be sure. Life and having enough money is always the issue for the queen grifter. Add to the mix Peggy’s felon husband, Denny (Matt Dillion), and a Guru (Rupert Friend.) oh, she is constantly thinking of ways to get rich quickly.

There was a fabulous, gross reveal in the latest episode. I am unsure where we are headed, but I know Judy and “Lionel Ritchie” will be beside Peggy every step of the way.

HIGH DESERT is available to stream on APPLE TV+.
