HEART OF STONE is an improbable, action-packed thriller featuring the stunning Gal Godot as Rachel Stone. Critics did not love this made-for-tv movie as much as the viewers. I feel it was because some reviewers might have compared it to a Tom Cruise’s MISSION IMPOSSIBLE film. Not fair.
I was thrilled to watch a strong woman’s take on all the difficult stunt work involved in HEART OF STONE. The halo parachuting, chase scenes, and hand-to-hand combat were intense and exciting. I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of these sequences. The dialogue was not terrible, but I would’ve liked more sarcastic, snarky responses. It just needed to even out the serious moments of “how do we save the world from destruction.” Only the “heart” has the answer and the key, especially when Rachael was up against a vicious villain like Jamie Dornan as Parker.
Personally, I hope this movie turns into a tv series (Only if Gal plays the lead). We could all use more female heroes who “Don’t stay in the van” when the going gets tough.
