HACKS S4E9 HEAVEN 😊 

What a shame, HACKS! Why didn’t the powers that be end the season last week and not show episode 9? It wasn’t HEAVEN for your fans. 

Noncompete clauses are a bitch, and this just doesn’t sit calmly within Deborah’s (Jean Smart) world. Once a performer, always a performer. Once a comic, always a comic. There is no room for the “R”  word. After four seasons, viewers get who Deborah Vance is, and it is very unnecessary to drive this point home over and over. Setting up the situation is crucial for any joke or comedy schtick. I can say with total conviction, we are prepared for season five, but it would have been much stronger to end on a high note than pull us all down to mediocrity. 

HACKS had an uneven season. Here’s hoping the writers change the course of Deborah and Ava’s story and make every episode as exciting and funny as last week’s. (Episode 8) Now that would be Emmy worthy.
