That’s it? That’s all that GEN V’s second season was about?!?! I understand that GEN V would eventually have to connect even more to THE BOYS world. However, after two seasons and this ending, this was a colossal waste of time. Season one was an okay side quest that was semi-enjoyable. Season two was only watchable thanks to Hamish Linklater’s fantastic performance.
So why the 🤮 emoji:
- Teen Angst: I get it. This is a show about college kids. However, none of the college kids in this show talk like they are actually in college. It’s cringeworthy dialogue that has them explain their emotions rather than show them on repeat.
- Dialogue: It’s bad. Characters repeat the same themes and get nowhere, as the main plot stalls while they vent.
- The Action: It’s mid, at best. Yes, there are still gross-out moments with extreme blood and gratuitous violence. Yet, unlike PEACEMAKER, the blood and violence don’t serve the plot. It merely exists to be…
Final Thought: Save your time and watch the final five minutes of GEN V season two to understand how it’s all going to connect to THE BOYS. You’ll thank me for it.
