After the best episode of the season, FROM returns with a good, not great, edition. I’ll break this review down into those sections Eli style:
THE GOOD:
- That Town Meeting – We finally get a town meeting to solve all problems (see the bad as to why this fails miserably).
- Make Good Choices – Boyd’s (Harold Perrineau) complicated choices are catching up with him. I predict we see him go from town hero to villain by the end.
- I’m not crying – The father/son reunion (not saying characters to avoid spoilers).
- Faraway Trees – These are not the holiday trees from THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. And the show is all the better for it. 🙂
THE BAD:
- THAT Town Meeting—Are you kidding me? Audiences have waited three seasons for this group to come together, only for the extras to do most of the talking. F this. What a total waste of time.
- On the nose: The dialogue and extraneous dialogue are exhausting. The slow burn needs to burn faster. We need more “brick in the wall” moments and less talking.
- Dress up – Julie and Elgin trying on clothing is light-hearted enough. But none of it adds anything to this episode. If you’re going to start a character arc, at least close some of it out in the same episode.

I didn’t hate this week. However, I want more monsters, action, and plot progression this season. We are at the halfway point, and as I’ve stated in the past, I know where this show has come FROM, but I don’t know where it’s heading TO.
It’s available on MGM+.
